Chanel Showcases the Craftsmanship of Gabrielle Chanel Bottle

Every detail in a Chanel creation is a marvel in its own right, whether we’re talking about a perfume, a jewelry piece, a dress, a jacket or anything that comes from this legendary French house. What seems to be simple is actually a work of art in Chanel’s language and the bottle of the newly-launched Gabrielle Chanel fragrance is no exception.

To form a raw material, a blend of sand, soda ash, lime and broken glass is heated to a very high temperature of approximately 1600oC. The molten glass is then poured into a mold to take its final shape then re-heated to smooth the surface of the glass and enhance its transparency. When cooled, the bottle reveals itself as a treasure holder, filled with the luminosity of a fragrance that counts the story of a great woman. What makes this bottle even more special is the slightly curved bottom – also known as Marloquette – which was pushed outwards, cut and polished until almost invisible. Can glass become more exquisite and refined?

While the golden colored square-shaped cap is stamped with the Chanel logo, two shades of gold were custom-designed for the outer packaging that showcases the perfume like a precious gem. In fact, this is what makes the Gabrielle Chanel fragrance a perfume of dreams!
