Valentino’s Donna Comes Alive in New Perfume

Lightness, elegance and delicacy are what define the world of Valentino in the eyes of designer duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. With the roman spirit at the heart of Valentino, the Eternal City notably leaves its mark on the house’s reveals, whether a haute couture piece, a ready-to-wear or a perfume.

Like it has always existed, the classic yet captivating Valentino Donna fragrance by perfumers Sonia Constant and Antoine Maisondieu comes alive to complete the Valentino woman’s simplicity. Subtle, light and unique, the scent bears an alluring Italian accord, with a mysterious and timeless spirit that resembles the traits of a couture object.

Rose essence is blended with notes of bergamot and iris Pallida to give the fragrance a refined radiance, while warm and intense notes of leather are mixed with Patchouli and vanilla to express an exquisite sensuality. A fusion of contemporary and classic, the glass bottle comes with a surface cut in prisms that resembles studs and is embellished with a plaque bearing the name of Valentino.

To interpret the Valentino Donna woman, Chiuri and Piccioli chose the young French-Spanish actress Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, whose face and maturity blend grace and pride. Portrayed by famed photographer Steven Meisel, she is “aware that being yourself also means interpreting a role.”
