IWC Schaffhausen at SIHH 2019

It’s on the very third day of the Salon de la Haute Horlogerie Internationale (2019) that IWC Schaffhausen unveiled its latest Pilot’s Watches amidst a huge crowd of watchmaking connoisseurs, its brand ambassadors and the world’s biggest celebrities.

The trade fair booth was actually designed as an entirely open space and set up like the wing of an airplane – for the first time ever – and the brand’s CEO Christoph Grainger-Herr guided visitors through IWC’s latest timepieces, from the new Spitfire to TOP GUN and “Le Petit Prince” models.

The Swiss salon watched the trade fair-goers sift through the countless of novelties, as IWC presented “Le Petit Prince” in the Pilot’s Watches collection. Indeed, The Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition "Le Petit Prince" is the first pilot's watch from IWC with a constant-force tourbillon and also the first watch to have hard gold for the watch case. And so, along with its midnight blue dial, this timepiece is dedicated to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “Le Petit Prince”.

Another collection introduced was the new Spitfire line in the Pilot’s Watches collection, and more specifically the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition “The Longest Flight”. The Spitfire watch features IWC-manufactured calibres and its design is inspired by the puristic instrument design of the Mark 11.
