CHANEL Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

There was one single rusty autumn leaf on the CHANEL invitation. That should have been a give-away to the enchanted woodland forest, complete with a carpet of fallen leaves, tufts of wet green moss as well as trees, lots of them – all real of course – that greeted guests in the Palais Garnier this morning. We would not have expected anything less from Karl Lagerfeld. And the clothes too were perfect for woodland strolls just after the rain. There were longer, leaner silhouettes like the ankle coats or calf-length skirt suits in house tweeds and earthy tones, little flat black patent leather shoes and flat gold knee-length boots were perfect for a country walk; messy top knots and a hint of winter kissed blush on the cheeks completed the looks. For evening, you’ll be wearing your CHANEL puffer styled over a black dress or maybe accessorizing with long bright red fingerless leather gloves.
