Walking in Heels…With Poise

Disclaimer: if you can run a marathon in heels, please spare us your cocky comments.

There are two kinds of women; those who were naturally born to rock this world in heels, and those who look like a walking disaster as soon as they grow a couple of inches.

But if you’re a flats-rather-than-heels-kind of gal, then you’ve landed on the right article. Since wedding season is right around the corner and you probably have a plethora of events to attend, we’re going to share with you a couple of tips on how to gracefully walk in heels – without looking like the Jolly Green Giant. But before we do so, keep in mind that higher heels mean shorter steps, so before you venture the “high-heel world”, make sure you kick off this journey with a simple attempt first.

  1. Heels are surely a certified way to create a nice posture, but should you not master the act of wearing them, you’ll most likely trip on your feet. That said, start off with small heelsand then move on to higher ones. The slower the process, the better.
  2. Another important factor in this subject is size. If your shoes fit, you shall walk like a true poised princess – don’t pull a Cinderella move though. In other words, make sure you have the right size of shoes.
  3. When you walk in heels, concentrate on a certain line and move towards a targeted end point. This trick will help you a lot as long as you don’t over-concentrate and stare at the floor – awkward!
  4. Keep in mind that walking heel to toe will render your silhouette much more confident.
  5. Always remember that the goal here isn’t to run a marathon in heels. Take plausible stepsand leave your built-up energy for running at the gym.
