Valentino Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

Set in the new breathtaking venue of the Lycée Carnot, Pierpaolo Piccioli brought a splendid display of Rococo inspired colors to an otherwise grey and rainy Paris afternoon. Sunglasses and high heeled courts in pinks, yellows, powdery blues and forest greens peppered like rainbow accents a show set to a medley of Grace Jones’ “La Vie en Rose”. Piccioli gave an easy glamorous spin to utility chic with PVC cropped parka jackets with heavily crystal encrusted pockets and sleeves, and the new Rockstud bag complete with dazzling crystal adornments. A draped lilac tank top dripping in crystals was styled with khaki cargo trousers. For evening, racer style tank tops were transformed into voluminous billowing gowns that looked like liquid as they spilled out onto the catwalk. From colored polka dot dresses to floral embroidery and the signature Valentino reds, Piccioli delivered an impeccable collection worthy of his standing ovation.
