Runway

Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

The Eiffel Tower is now not only synonymous with Paris, the city of lights, but also with Anthony Vacarrello’s Saint Laurent. For the second season the glittering landmark towered over Vacarello’s spectacular runway collection. Add to that the dazzling disco effect of the light display that formed part of the show space, and it was a perfect backdrop to an homage to the color black. Front row regular and YSL muse Catherine Deneuve was there to enjoy the decidedly rock chick mood of the show. Little black leather shorts were styled with New Romantic inspired lace blouses and closely cropped velvet tuxedo jackets. There was drama in the black sweeping cape, and opulent black fur interspersed with splashes of silver crystal in a mini dress and grey check tailoring. For evening, black sculptural column dresses were followed by a finale of vampy jewel toned crystal floral disco mini dresses.
