No Haircut Healthy Hair

I love how healthy a haircut makes my hair look and feel, and I recently tried out a new hairdresser who, unlike my old one, actually listened when I asked for only a trim. The part she missed was when I asked for subtle highlights, and even though I left the salon with fried light ends, my hair somehow looked great. Although I wasn’t sure if I would be a returning client, I did love my gorgeous long hair. What I didn’t like was how damaged it looked. I did some research to find out how to make my hair healthier without having to cut it again. Here’s what I found.

 1.    Use oil on your hair after washing and before you blow-dry. I love using Moroccan Oil after a blow-dry, but by using it before it actually makes blow drying easier.

 2.    Wash your hair less often. The day before I wash my hair I drench the ends in coconut oil and pull it up into a sleek bun.

 3.    I switch between a hydrating shampoo and a purple shampoo to keep the blonde from getting brassy. This keeps the color looking shiny making my hair appear super healthy.

4.    Another way to fake healthy hair is by using leave-in conditioners. When I get out of the shower I spray it on and put my hair in a bun. By nighttime my hair is half dry and nourished. I then blow-dry it and it cuts down the drying time. Since I am using less heat I am not damaging my hair as much.

5.    As far as heat goes, ideally you shouldn't use much heat on it, but I don’t think I can live without my curlers and blow-dryer. I love using the curling rod and creating beach waves, especially since I leave the ends out while curling.

Not sure how long this long hair will last before I have to cut it, but with enough care and hydration I can get by for now.
