If there’s one type of product that I have bought tons of, it’s lip treatments. I have probably tried almost every lip hydrating product under the sun, but unfortunately most of them don’t seem to work. Of course, hydrating from within is probably the best solution, but sometimes the weather also plays a factor. The first time I heard of lip oils was from a client from Europe searching for a sold out Clarins lip oil. Needless to say, I had to order one for myself too! 

Whether it’s for a Valentine’s kiss or a duck face selfie, lips need to be on point so let’s talk lip oils. What are they and what do they do? Starting out with the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, this can be used under or over lipstick or by itself. It used to only come in two shades, but I was excited to find out that they have added 5 more shade options. Another one I tried is the Hourglass The Iconic Treatment which is just as nourishing, but felt a little bit thicker like a lip gloss consistency. Fun fact: the applicator is 24 karat gold. If you want the benefits of a lip oil but want more color, YSL Volupté Tint-in-Oil is the one for you. These are great because you don’t really need to wear a lipstick over them, but they are a pretty natural looking treatment. They also smell amazing! In conclusion, lip oils are basically full of nourishing essential oils that are great for hydrating and also anti-aging. Try one out, or perhaps try making one yourself at home. Hello Google!
