Lacoste Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

Sport-chic was at the core of Lacoste’s Spring-Summer 2018 collection, as Felipe Oliveira Baptista sent out models wearing all-things casual on the runway.

For a brand that is usually known for sportswear, Baptista put another spin on Lacoste’s legacy, introducing a vivid combination of denim and gilet vests. His looks were best portrayed as a sophisticated version of sportswear, combining tracksuits with midi skirts, high-rise jeans with off-the-shoulder tops, and turning sports jackets into cinched dresses. The brand’s know-how on polo shirts was much more exploited as said pieces were turned into oversized dresses, revealing casualness at its peak. The moniker crocodile insignia was forever present in the fresh pieces, marking Lacoste’s influence on fashion. Along came lightweight trench-coats and strapless dresses upholstered with centered buttons. The eveningwear section was shining with a slew of designs embellished with scattered feathers and shiny boots, injecting the collection with an elegant twist.
