On the Oscars red carpet the ultimate Valli girl Zendaya posed in an asymmetric sleeve gown whilst Hailee Steinfeld wore a black and white number to the Vanity Fair Oscars party. Cut to Paris, and there was a playful pared back feel to what the young free-spirited Giambattista Valli girls will be wearing next season. The little floral A-line mini dresses with patent over-the-knee bright purple boots, had a retro hippie feel to them. There was a nomadic global traveler feel to the flat printed shoes with faux-fur trim, not to mention the laidback trainers styled with long floral sweeping maxi-dresses. But take a closer look and it’s never that simple with Valli. Black trousers were sequinned in liquid-like stripes, and his trademark voluminous ruffles and tiers were sprinkled in miniature frills on a white lace and floral dress. One model even sported a painted silver glitter face.
