Get Ready With me Mom Edition

Although my morning routine was a pretty quick one, becoming a mom has made it even faster. I admit, most days I am lucky if I even have time for a 5-minute shower, but looking put-together just makes my day seem much happier. I literally wake up at the crack of dawn about half an hour before my daughter does and I jump in the shower for a quick body wash. Nowadays, everything I put on my skin needs to be safe and natural since I am breastfeeding. That means paying attention to ingredients and, honestly, just eliminating many of my favorite products for now. I wash my face in the shower with a very mild cleanser.

Taking care of my skin is so important to me now because I rarely get to wear face make up. My daughter likes to “eat” my face and foundation isn’t on my list of her nutritious meals. Luckily, I can still use concealer because the lack of sleep is no joke. I am a huge fan of the Benefit Boi ing concealers, and as my skin has been pretty dry and dull, I am now a huge fan of the “hydrating” one. I am dying to try the “industrial strength” one since I need all the help I can get, but this one seems better for an everyday look.

Most of my focus is on the eye area especially eyebrows. I fill in my brows with my MAC self-sharpening brow definer in “stylized.” I use any leftover concealer from my ring finger to dab onto my eyelids, to cover up any redness or blue veins. Using NARS Duo Eyeshadow in “Hammamet” I go into my crease and create the illusion of bigger eyes.I use the lighter shade on my lid. I also use a lot of mascara because it just makes me feel pretty. My current favorite is the Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara; sounds dramatic but that’s exactly what I need. I hydrate my lips with vaseline, tie my hair up in a bun throw on some leggings and a hoodie and run into her room for my morning smooches.
