Chanel’s Festive and Obsessive Makeup Collection

We are obsessed with Chanel's The Boldest Blend Holiday 2015 Makeup Collection Red and Black. The highlight of this collection is the cult favorite "Rouge Noir" polish and the complementing shades of the season. 20 years ago Chanel released an intense dark cherry color #18  Le Vernis Rouge Noir aka "Vamp" that has become such a staple, it has been put in the same category of the brand's symbolic items such as pearls and tweed.

As always, Chanel Beauty releases an exclusive creation "signe particulier" quad. Complementing the "Rouge Noir", the shadows have a dark yet luminous feel. On their own or blended together, the star of the show is definitely the dark cherry color which blends out perfectly with the parma violet tone. I love using this instead of black since it's just as intense but so beautiful on dark Middle Eastern eyes. The metallic saffron gold shadow is perfect for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes since a dark color would cause an undesirable shadow in that area. Another way to make the eyes pop is using the Le Crayon Yeux in Or Safran on the lower waterline.

If you have used "vamp" nail polish, you know that it isn't just a dark cherry red tone, but also has a hint of gold shimmer. The Lèvres Scintillantes in Etincelle mimics this beautiful "rouge noir" vampy shade.

I end this look with Joues Contraste Lumière highlighter in Coups de Minuit not only on my face but on the decolté with an evening gown. The perfect festive look, inspired by my favorite color of the season. In fact, I'm wearing the shade on my nails right now!
