Brush Collection

I am hoping that you read the article that tells you how to clean your brushes and have a nice clean set now. But did your brush cleaning take forever? Then, I think it’s time to downsize. I had the same problem, only because I have so many brushes that I barely use. I admit some of my brushes have been with me since high school, and that’s a scary thought. But if you really take care of them, many brands like MAC and Smashbox make really great quality brushes that last a very long time. But I digress! Today, I’m making a list of what I am keeping along with what I am getting rid of. So why don’t you join me?

The main thing you might wanna get rid of is those “gifts with purchase” or “holiday set” brushes. If you just received one of those over the holidays, by all means keep them, but if you’ve had them for a while chances are, their time is up. Companies usually use a different quality in these sets or gifts with purchase to be able to get you a better price, meaning they still do a great job, but don’t last as long.

So, here is what to keep:

-Foundation flat brush

-Kabuki brush also for foundation

-Blush brush

-Crease Brush (these are my favorite; you might want to keep a few perhaps a dense one and one for blending)

-Flat eyeshadow brush

-Eyeliner brush

-Eyeshadow angled brush

-Eyebrow brush with spoolie

- Powder brush

These should be enough, but you may have some other favorites depending on what type of makeup routine you have. Remember to keep those brushes that are soft and feel good on your face. After all, doing your makeup should be a comfortable process that makes you feel pretty and feminine.
