Royal Beauty – The Do’s and Don’ts

For us, beauty is a way to express ourselves and our characters. Are you more of a shy person or you prefer to show off your audacity? This is a mere example of the features your makeup, hair and nails could say about you. However, for royalties, beauty takes a different turn. Princesses and queens define beauty in their own special way – leaving  quite a long list of do’s and don’ts. Let’s explore them together!

Starting by the hair, a neat and simple style is always required. Besides the obligation of having their hair dressed all the time, a princess or a queen should wear a hat to all formal events. And if they’re attending one held indoor after 6PM, a tiara is required in case they were married.

As for the makeup, the list of restrictions is not any shorter. The latter should be simple and refined, excluding the use of bright lipstick or bold eye looks. For instance, a princess or a queen can get a simple makeup look with natural-looking rosy cheeks such as Princess Diana’s or a neutral smokey eye – which is Kate Middleton’s go-to.

Finally, the nails! Nails should be kept short and like lipsticks, bright or dark colors are not a no-go. In fact, pale pink and clear seem to be the only polish shades allowed by royals. This actually explains Queen Elizabeth’s choice of Essie’s Ballet Slippers lacquer.

After all, as fun as it may sound, being a royal is not easy!
