How Often Should You Wash Your Hair?

I am going to be completely honest here. I went to the hair salon last week so 6 days ago. My hair still is in good shape, maybe not perfect but still doesn’t look oily. I do want to wash it today, but I am coloring my hair in the morning so I’m just going to leave it one more day. That¹s an entire week! Yikes, I know!  But I swear it doesn’t smell bad or anything. I don’t work out, I don’t sweat and my hair is very clean. My scalp is super dry and so is the rest of my hair that’s why I am very lucky to have a blow dry last this long. I used to wash my hair almost every day or every other day especially after going to the gym. But am I doing the right thing? What do the experts say? Is not washing my hair really better for my hair because I am not stripping the natural oils etc? Well, it all depends. Try it for a few days how does your hair feel? Personally after a few days my hair feels like it wants to be washed. I could probably at this point try some dry shampoo etc and see how it goes but I just feel like washing my hair also relaxes me if that makes sense. If your hair is oily you definitely can’t and shouldn’t go a week, esthetically speaking. When you do wash it, try to use something sulfate free. If you use tons of products in your hair you might want to wash it more often as well. Yes, when you wash it you are cleaning your hair, but the good and bad are being washed out. Be your own judge. It’s all about trial and error, so it’s a personal choice and it depends on culture, age and lifestyle. Medically speaking though, there is no right or wrong amount of times. Do what works and feels right for you!
