Dutch Braid

I’ve always known how to do a basic braid but I felt the need to brush up on my braiding skills. I have a friend that has beautiful blonde hair and always has her hair up with a side braid. It’s such a feminine and classic look. I also keep seeing posts of Kim K and her crew with the double braids and it just looks so perfect for summer. Last week I was rushing to leave the house and was having a really bad hair day and I tried to do it thinking it looks so easy but failed miserably. That said, I would love to give my hair a break from the blow dryer and do this. So I decided to go full force and try the Dutch Braid. Let’s learn how to do it together step by step:

1) Comb out your hair, split it in the middle and tie one side out of the way

2) Take an inch of hair from the top of your head and separate into three

3) To achieve the dutch braid look, braid like you normally would but go underneath instead of over

4) Braid towards the back and keep adding a strand of hair

5) As you go to the back, start taking larger chunks and secure the end with an elastic band

6) Repeat on the other side

This definitely takes practice and is a total arm workout!
