Christofle Teams up with KARL LAGERFELD for Limited-Edition “MOOD”

For the first time in its history, Christofle takes its know-how to new levels and teams up with a fashion brand to launch a limited-edition of its “MOOD” flatware set and decorative case. Yes, the great KARL LAGERFELD is the one behind the new design of this piece – which will be available in two exclusive colors and limited to 1500 pieces spread around the world.

This partnership comes as no surprise, knowing that Lagerfeld is a long-time Christofle connoisseur and owns many pieces produced by this legendary French brand in his own home. Finding inspiration in Art Deco and architecture, Karl Lagerfeld’s take on MOOD is all about structured, graphic lines featured on the elliptical egg shape. While the 1000 polished silver pieces are crafted from mirrored stainless steel, the 500 sleek black ones are made of lacquered stainless steel. With both being engraved with the Christofle coat of arms on one side and KARL LAGERFELD’s signature on the other, each piece will be numbered on the bottom.

The MOOD is Christofle’s most renowned design that reimagines the classic codes of table setting. As secretive as it can be, the egg shape opens to reveal a 24-piece set of silver-plated flatware ideal for both special occasions and everyday life. What makes them different from the usual Christofle MOOD is the fact that each piece is stamped with the KARL LAGERFELD silhouette logo.

“The collaboration between Christofle and KARL LAGERFELD was a natural fit,” said Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of KARL LAGERFELD. “We have a shared appreciation for style that is contemporary yet classic, pure and elegant. Karl’s MOOD design is sophisticated in its simplicity and is sure to be an iconic tableware in any home.”
