Berluti presents Kris Van Assche’s First Capsule Collection

Kris Van Assche has finally introduced his first capsule collection for Berluti, a little something to anticipate before his first runway presentation in January 2019.

Indeed, the Spring/Summer 2019 capsule collection represents a reinvented version of Berluti, where silhouettes and volumes are defined and black canvases are tailored into two-button suit jackets, white poplin shirts and black and white tuxedos. Menswear basics introduce a new understated notion, featuring sportswear garments such as the bomber jacket, the letter jacket and the track top as well as bottom.

In this spirit, Artistic Director Kris Van Assche takes Berluti’s heritage and tastefully blends it with the codes of a new intergenerational era. Picture the classic ‘Alessandro’ oxford reimagined with a thicker leather sole, and the brand’s traditionally hand-worked patina signature developed in a dual blue and red colourway, echoed in bags. New beginnings are echoed through innovative iterations, such as an eighteenth century manuscript motif inherent to Berluti, featured in a graphic print on casualwear and bags. The collection also features the new ‘Berluti 1895 Paris’ signature, emblazoned on a jacket, sweatshirt and t-shirt as a nod to the future.
