Before you Try Lash Extensions Consider a Lash Lift

On my journey to long thick lashes, I came across another option called a lash lift. I still haven’t tried the lash extensions, but the lash lift sounded a little easier to commit to. First off, a warning: if you get grossed out easily do not youtube “lash lift.” Luckily your eyes will be closed during this procedure.

So, your actual lashes are enhanced by first applying lash glue to lift them. Once they are lifted, a perming agent is applied to “curl” them or keep them in the lifted position. A black dye is applied to enhance the color just like mascara does but permanent. Voila! Thicker and longer lashes.

How long does it last? It varies, but about 8 weeks is the average. This sounds like a really nice option for a more natural look. That said, make sure you go to a professional when doing this procedure since anything near the eye area can be really dangerous. One thing I didn’t like about the lash extensions was the need to get them filled. This only takes an hour, and the good thing is if you decide after a few weeks that you don’t want to do it again, your lashes will just naturally go back to normal over time.
