With pantsuits and skirt-suits witnessing a surge in popularity in the past few years, one could easily wonder who’s next on the beautifully-dressed list. With that in mind, this season, get ready to embark on a jolly ride full of tailored suits and matching shorts!

But first, let’s rewind a bit and think about the origin of this trend. Considered as one of the most proliferating trends to hit the Spring-Summer 2019 runways, short-suits can be traced back to the eighties, much like one too many resurfacing styles and cuts. The short-suit was and still is considered a way for women to prove that they can pull off menswear-inspired clothing while still being heard loud and clear. Maybe it’s just the feminist in us talking, but we are loving it!

And it’s not just us, designers such as Marc Jacobs and Thom Browne and big Fashion Houses such as CHANEL, Saint Laurent and so many more have adopted this trend as their own.
