As I waited for the show to begin, I couldn’t help but notice the contrast of the huge disco ball floating over our heads and the venue’s stunning stain glass windows – Alice Temperley had clearly chosen a décor representative of her designs: quirky yet traditional.
This latest ‘Havana’ collection embraced the bohemian island lifestyle while staying true to the brand’s feminine signature embroideries. Panama hats were paired with flowing feminine gowns, which radiated color and life. Unlike other fashion labels this season, Temperley did not hold back on summer wear and instead celebrated bright tints and playful prints. As to complete these holiday picture-perfect outfits, light linens with luscious foliage motifs and gladiator sandals joined in.
To add a bit of nocturnal glamor to the line, glitters and sequins were stitched onto beautiful long gowns. A dazzling silver dress sparkled across the room and made the model look like a goddess whilewhite cotton wrap-dresses, which were covered in tinsels, hypnotized the crowd.
As Alice came out with her gigantic smile, spectators were reminded that sometimes it takes a woman to know what women want.
