Say I Do In Colors

As far as the rules of weddings are concerned, brides have to always wear white while tying the knot. That’s just the way it is. But nearly 176 years ago, this was not exactly the case. It appears that getting married required brides to wear sumptuous red gowns. But the great Queen Victoria defied the odds as she arrived to her wedding in a dreamy white dress, making it a tradition that the world still follows – and that’s how you make an impression.

Fast forward to today, brides are redefining the notion of “wearing white”. If you think about it, why would you ever stick to an age-old tradition and wear white and only white on your big day? Why wouldn’t you be able to pick a color of your choice and make a unique statement? With this in mind, modern brides have taken it upon themselves to completely break the rules. And what we’ve come to discover is that there are so many other appropriate colors for a wedding out there that it would be just baffling to miss out on all the fun. So if you already have pasty skin, want to be original or simply hate the color white, we’ve come up with the perfect alternatives for you to enjoy on your big day! From champagne tones, to pink and blue hues and floral patterns, we’ve selected a series of runway images to get you inspired. The Photo Gallery, right this way…
