Roberto Cavalli Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

Sleek and sophisticated, Paul Surridge’s Roberto Cavalli collection dispensed with any of the usual over the top settings or crazy pattern combinations, and went for a low key but powerful interpretation of the brand. Right from the start, Surridge spelt out his mission with a black draped evening dress followed, by a black deconstructed trouser suit with gold embroidery at the shoulders. Cavalli’s signature animal prints were subtly acknowledged in an urban jungle theme of dark red and black animal print which came in a tailored coat, fluid trousers, and tribal detailed evening dresses. There were tan crocodile skin jeans, a burgundy crocodile skin waistcoat, styled over a khaki blouse, and khaki trousers and contrast colored animal skin jackets and skirts. “Respect the past. Embrace the future” was Surridge’s spring/summer mission, and the show most certainly did that.
