Retro Beauty

So the other day, I wanted to take a journey back in time to get some inspiration for makeup looks. After watching some vintage makeup tutorials, I was surprised to find that most of the tips are pretty much the same as the ones we are using today.
They start off with foundation and apply powder with a disposable cotton puff. That’s a good way to skip cleaning your brushes!
As far as eyeshadows, they use a light shade on the lid to make eyes appear larger, and dark to appear smaller.
A good blush tip is to imagine a line from the center of your eye and not go beyond the line towards your nose. They say to contour what you want to hide with a darker shade.
In general, it’s a very clean and natural look, but the only difference that truly stands out is a very bright lip shade, and it’s right on time for Spring. I love the bold colors of the different eras; whether it’s a bright red, pink or orange. All the lip colors are to be applied with a lip brush.
Nowadays makeup is so rushed; so, the biggest takeaway from the golden era, is to sit down and really enjoy each step as a form of pampering, it really makes you feel so glamorous!
