Pro Tip for Lining Your Eyes

We are always looking for the best tips and tricks.

Even as a makeup artist, eyeliner was what scared me the most. Getting them even or winging them out seemed like such a challenge. A few tricks I learned that really helped me are the following.

Most of the time we are so nervous while applying that our hand literally shakes.
Rest your ring finger below your eyelid so you can have a steadier hand.
Another great tip is actually a brush you can buy that will help so much.
What you need is a firm flat edge eyeliner push brush. NARS Push Eyeliner Brush #46 is the perfect example for this. All you need at this point is a dark shadow. You can either do the powder wet or dry for a softer look. Why is it called a push brush? Because that is exactly what we are going to do. We are going to push the powder onto the base of the lashes. Don’t smear the brush over the lid to form a line. Starting from the edge of the eye work your way in about the third of your eye pushing the product in and then moving over and repeating. This forms a beautiful natural looking eyeliner look with no harsh lines. With this technique, the lashes look super dark and defined. If you have hooded eyes open up your eye with one hand and apply from the bottom up. Almost where your water line is, or as close as you can get.
