Powder Nails

I recently heard about a new technique called powder nails. Gel literally changed my life with no more chips and waiting to dry, but I hate the part when it grows out and gets stuck in my hair, when I run my fingers through. I haven’t tried powder nails yet, but like anything else I love doing research before I try it. Here’s what I found.

Basically, the powder is like the acrylic of the past, but instead of it just being white, it’s the actual color of your “polish.” At least that’s what I was told at the nail salon. I wondered if that means that color options are limited?

To be honest my nails are on the healthy side now, so I’m not sure if I want to go through the hassle of getting acrylic nails. I read some reviews online that mentioned that although it’s marketed as “good for your nails”, it just doesn’t smell as strong as your traditional acrylic powder. Also, your nails won’t look like you have acrylics on so they kind of look just like gel and a thin coat of polish. They are to be removed with acetone after filing the top coat down a bit, and when first applied, they dry instantly just like gel. It sounds like this would be perfect for someone whose nails split easily or don’t grow out since it seems to protect the nail, which prevents it from breaking.
