Perfect Makeup for Dry VS Oily Skin

Foundation and skin types are either a match made in heaven, or as disastrous as that blind date you went on. When finding the right foundation this is as important as nailing the perfect shade.

Let’s start off with dry skin. Dry skin obviously needs hydration so we need a creamy texture, but we also need to make sure that our skin doesn’t soak up our makeup. Start off by using a moisturizer, then a primer such as TOO FACED Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. These steps will give you the right base for the foundation to do its thing and not get soaked up like a sponge. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is a great option, and as a matter of fact any foundations that use the words Hydrating or Glow are perfect.

On the other hand, almost all matte finish foundations work for oily skin. Setting them with a powder is a must. Estee Lauder Double Wear seems to be perfect for this skin type. Another longtime favorite is the powder foundation MAC Studio Fix. Both have great coverage and have a matte finish.

As with either skin tone, the key to perfect makeup is taking care of your skin. A proper skincare routine makes your foundation go on smoother and stay on longer.
