Mixing and matching patterns and prints is obviously not exclusive to fashion, as exploring this trend in our interior design is just as fun as choosing a stylish outfit.

And just like in fashion, this trend needs mastery and a high level of taste to give our house a touch like no other. Don’t worry because we will help you with our tips and you will definitely find the right way to give your house a refreshing makeover.

First, decide on the color that will dominate your room and the theme that you would like to apply. Look for a multi-hued pattern and make the dominant color in it the color that will take over the room, by painting the rest of the walls or highlighting it through the furniture. Here, it’s important to mention that the primary pattern should be used in a big way, on something that will be noticed as soon as you walk through the door, like a large sofa.

Now, it’s time to choose a secondary pattern. Bringing together the dominant color in addition to a couple of other hues, this one should be used on secondary pieces such as rugs, cushions and lamps. It’s also important to make sure this pattern is a more simplified version of the primary one.

Finish off the décor of the room with furniture that work with the colors of the patterns.  For instance, if the room is furnished in cool colors, use light fabrics and hues to finish it off.
