Nina Ricci Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

For Spring-Summer 2018, Guillaume Henry sent out an updated version of the twenties, providing a sense of escapism through romanticism and refinement. Indeed, Henry’s take on the past translated into a line-up of outfits that boasted feathers and a whole lot of uniforms.

It’s at the heart of the “Hotel National Des Invalides” that the models paraded in what could only be described as a romantic and ladylike collection, rendered via uniform jackets with big shoulders, cinched waists and centered buttons. The House’s fresh femininity came alive in a series of fringed items, from tops to dresses, as a nod to the roaring twenties. The models wore kepis atop their heads, and sported belts with the logo “NR” carved on the buckles. Midi dresses combined leather and silk, while tops were upholstered with fringed shoulders – as a reference to uniforms. Henry’s penchant for sensuality was never undermined, as he beautifully conjured the “Femme Fatale” while taking a small detour to soldier-land. a
