Natural Make-up for Dior’s Autumn-Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection

For Dior’s Fall/Winter 2018-2019 ready-to-wear collection, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup Peter Philips pampered his models with a inspired look enhanced with colored eye liner and coordinated with the different colored sunglasses.

The focus was of course, on the eyes, as Philips used bright colors to compliment the looks.

“I wanted to create an eye that displayed color and played with the shades of the sunglasses which were omnipresent in this collection. In a reflection of the tinted transparent lenses, I used the new Diorshow on stage liner to draw a line of color on both the upper and lower lash lines. Green, yellow, red, pink, blue and grey – all the colors are there. There is a “camouflage” make-up effect, as though it’s blending in with each pair of glasses. I finished the look by emphasizing eyebrows with the Diorshow brow styler and Diorshow bold brow, while making sure they still looked natural”.

For the complexion, Philips went for a natural look: “A natural and luminous complexion obtained using capture youth glow booster serum, which I applied first for a really radiant base. Then I evened out the skin while respecting everyone’s skin tone with Diorskin forever undercover, which provides great cover in a wide color range, and with a very natural finish. Any last little imperfections were touched up with Diorskin forever undercover concealer, then I ended with the new Diorskin mineral nude bronze or glow powders to catch light.”

He also described the lips as “very natural, as they were subtly plumped with Dior addict lip maximizer”. The nails looked natural as well and were prepped using base coat Abricot and gel coat. On the other hand, the hair was styled by Guido Palau with every model’s hair texture kept intact – from curly to straight – and kept on one side with a full emphasis on the collection’s hats.
