As a tribute, the House of Chanel launches Gabrielle Chanel fragrance, one of a woman who chooses her own path and is faithful to Coco’s saying, “I have chosen the person I wanted to be and am.” It is a scent that awakens the rebellious side in every woman and pushes her to reveal her unique identity. It invites her to have faith in who she is and what she is capable of achieving in order to find her own path.

In this fragrance, perfumer Olivier Polge has given flowers a new voice and created an ideal white one drawing upon all of the floral varieties ever recorded in the history of Chanel Fragrances. Ylang-ylang comes together with jasmine, orange blossom, a touch of tuberose now grown in Grasse to take the concept of white flowers much further. He increased the intensity of jasmine and used white musk to add more velvetiness to the ylang-ylang petals. His use of milky sandalwood accentuated the creaminess of tuberose, and with hints of mandarin peel, a zest of grapefruit and blackcurrant, he boosted the freshness of orange blossom.

This blend has not only created a fragrance, but we can easily admit that it’s an olfactory revolution. Therefore, it called for a celebration where Chanel invited its friends and favorite celebs to a private reception at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The place was filled with Gabrielle Chanel’s favorite quotes and the guests, including the face of Gabrielle Chanel, Kristen Stewart, Pharrell Williams, Gaspard Ulliel, Liu Wen and Kaya Scodelario and others, gathered to celebrate the birth of this new legend.
