Marni Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

Life in plastic really is fantastic! At least that’s what Francesco Risso’s collection for Marni stated on the very last day of Milan Fashion Week.

The designer sent out models donning patent vinyl coats in bold colors - think a lavish mix of sapphire blue and black. There were wide and thick belts that cinched the models’ waists ever-so elegantly, sprucing up the whole “wet” look all too flatteringly. Risso’s use of leather was widely present through coats and accessories such as handbags and boots, but what struck us the most was the way he incorporated the art of color-blocking into the whole mix. Picture coats divided into two fabric colors, intertwining together in the middle with a prominent buckle. Perhaps our favorite combination was the green python-meets-leather mishmash, summoning an effortlessly chic vibe.

There were striped boots, big overwhelming anoraks, oversized tunics layered in loose pants, XXL totes and colors clashing in a beautiful color frenzy - think orange and purple.
