Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

Held in the depths of the Sully Wing in the Louvre Museum, Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton show offered the perfect season finale. Whilst the medieval chanting on the soundtrack gave an eerie feel, the mood on the catwalk was altogether strong modern and uplifting. This collection solidified the fact that shorts for next season are the new skirts and trousers, snakeskin print the new animal print, and sporty trainers the new shoe. Snakeskin print coats embroidered in florals were styled with utility shorts in cobalt blue or bright yellow. A new style shirt dress - sleeveless with a drop waist that billowed out into a poof hem and styled with trainers - came in white or black and will most definitely give a new evening silhouette to next season. The Sully Wing is presided over by an ancient statue of the Sphinx but this show looked very much to the future.
