Runway

Lanvin Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

Olivier Lapidus’ second show for Lanvin revealed to be extremely colorful. So much so that the creative director mixed fabrics and genres to create a dreamy rhythm for the eyes.

The show kicked off with models parading down the runway in satin dresses and skirts, all of which were shining with a degradé of warm colors – think fiery orange and yellows. There was some sort of color-blocking taking over the collection, as an orange leather jacket was seen paired with sapphire blue trousers, and a pink coat was tastefully layered on top of a yellow knit. There were high-slit dresses paired with knee-high boots, colorful leather ensembles, pleated midi skirts paired with slimming turtlenecks, finely crafted belt-bags and elegantly draped voile dresses. The colors used in this collection were as charismatic as colors can be, but perhaps their magic lied in the rich mixture of tones and hues in one single look. It all felt sophisticated and refined, true to Lanvin’s timeless legacy.
