Lacoste Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

For the past few seasons, Lacoste’s Creative Director Felipe Oliveira Baptista has been widely acknowledged for turning the brand’s heritage into a more appealing ground for millennials. Last season, the designer had summoned retro sportswear to his collection; this time around, he veered towards a more nature-inspired feel. In fact, the House clearly stated that the iconic “Crocodile” would be leaving its spot to 10 other threatened species, as part of a partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

So you can only imagine what the collection actually looked like – hint, pure genius. Models sported rain-boots and Boonie hats to complement their looks. Indeed, the clothes had pictures of birds on them, while a raincoat had a collage of tiger pictures splattered all around it. There were ponchos, and oversized turtleneck knits with multicolored leaf patterns on them. Along came tracksuits in the form of overalls and a rich series of checkered coats and jackets. A denim ensemble with a hood-ied bomber jacket was a huge success, as it brought back a retro vibe to the collection.
