Kenzo Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Ready-to-Wear

Also known as Memento N.3, Kenzo’s Fall/winter 2018-2019 collection was chockfull of stripes and ruffles. The inspiration behind the collection was mostly jungle-related, as Carol Lim and Humberto Leon sent out models wearing a tropical storm. It was truly a fashion-meets-art collection, held in the Museum of Money and accompanied by a private banquet.

And so, it’s at the very heart of the art-inspired space that models stepped out in what could only be described as an illustration of a walking jungle. There were coats featuring forest representations and upholstered with white feather trimmings, knitted skirt embellished with thick stripes, orange turtlenecks with lively designs of the jungle, overwhelming dresses that shined with the colors of the wilderness and red boots that had some sort of spiciness written all over them.

There was a nod to the wilderness’ true predators throughout the collection – such as the tiger – and most importantly, a big symbolic salute to Art and its direct effect on fashion.
