Let’s face it; we all know weddings can be very stressful, especially if you’re the bride. Not only do you have to deal with the stress of the wedding planning, but you also have to make sure you look your absolute best come the big day! You also have to plan down to every last detail, stay in line with the wedding planner, make sure all your loved ones are attending and live up to your inner child’s expectation of the perfect wedding day. The horror, right?

Only if you think about it, your wedding day doesn’t have to be a big hassle, let alone the source of constant sorrow. Yes ladies, you can still have the best day of your life without having to lose your mind and nerves over who’s sitting next to who. This is why we’ve decided to share with you our little secrets on how to stay chilled and sane on your most important day!

  1. First and foremost, change perspective. Not everything has to go as society’s norms claim. It is your day and you can do whatever you want with it! If you want to get married on a Thursday night, do it! If you want your wedding ceremony to be bohemian-themed, then by all means, do it! Keeping in mind that flexibility is key and that traditions are way overrated.
  2. Plan. Yes, the secret to not losing your mind is organizing everything from A to Z. Once you do, you’ll have a strict guideline on how to proceed next, and the clear timeline will gently guide you through the big day.
  3. Let it sink in that there’s no such thing as “the perfect wedding day”. There will be bumps on the road and there will be little hiccups. The trick here is to take a deep breath and focus on your own happiness! Your sole purpose should be wanting to have fun and sealing the deal.
  4. Know that your relatives are not mind-readers. If you want some help, ask for it. Trust us, they’ll gladly pitch in with the wedding preparations and you’ll be able to allocate the tasks accordingly.
  5. Not everything has to revolve around the wedding. Take a break and let your mind wander freely. You can choose to participate in activities, or you can just hang out with your friends and fiancé without talking about IT.
  6. Lastly, don’t let the stress eat you up. Unwind and take the time to enjoy every single moment of the ceremony!
