Introducing Giuseppe Zanotti’s New Collaboration with Rita Ora

We love Giuseppe Zanotti and we love Rita Ora. But we’re head over heels in love with the duo’s collaboration, also known as Giuseppe for Rita Ora. Indeed, the new footwear collection by the Italian fashion designer and the British singer will be launching on January 24th, bringing forth nothing less than pure genius.

So get this; Giuseppe’s iconic design codes perfectly blend with Rita Ora’s signature style, channeling all things sultry and powerful. Think street cred mixed with fine Italian craftsmanship and feminine power. Think fierceness mixed with seductiveness.

“It was a dream and pure joy to work with Giuseppe. Like any creative endeavor, it’s fundamental to partner with someone who shares the same vision and energy. Giuseppe’s imagination is boundless and together we created shoes that embody self-empowerment, self-love and just the right amount of grit,” says Rita.

“Music has always been at the center of my design ethos,” commented Giuseppe. “The music world is an endless source of inspiration and Rita, with her extraordinary mix of sensuality and strength, proved to be a very powerful muse.” 

That said, the designer has had a fruitful past with some of the world’s most acclaimed artists for world tours (Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Rihanna), album covers (Cardi B, Beyoncé) and even special branded collections, including most recently Jennifer Lopez and Zayn Malik. And so, the story between the British singer and the acclaimed designer first started back in New York City last year.

So how would Giuseppe describe the capsule collection? “I wanted to create a series of styles that represents the three different facets of Rita: glamour, effortlessness and cool,” he said.

But that’s not all, as the power duo will be celebrating the collection with a launching event at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills on January 24th, 2019.

120 Years of Purposeful Travel with Rimowa

To celebrate its 120th anniversary, Rimowa unveils its first-ever global integrated campaign featuring a select cast of renowned global cultural icons. The latter use their collective mindset – the belief that mastery is a never-ending journey and that one should always be proactive – to celebrate Rimowa’s ethos and its role as a companion in one’s journey.

And so, athlete Roger Federer, Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh, model Adwoa Aboah, international chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Dior Men’s jewelry designer Yoon Ahn take part in this cinematic initiative by sharing their personal interpretations of what travel has meant for their lives.

The campaign was shot on three continents by five different directors, all of whom worked closely with each cultural icon to create a unique perception of their personal journey. Combined into an anthem film, the five films are accompanied as well by a series of photographs by Brett Lloyd.

"Why settle on one director if you can work with five? ‘Never standing still’ as the core of this campaign demands exciting films and storytelling. We decided to work with five film directors to bring the genuine stories of five famous individuals to life. From Nobu’s Japanese tale to Adwoa’s story of transformation to Virgil’s experimental travel journey. A production maze and marvel on all levels. The campaign culminates in a collected anthem film with the contribution of all five directors. A powerful manifestation to keep moving," said Frank Hahn, Executive Creative Director at Anomaly Berlin.

Into the Wild with Fendi

Step into Fendi’s tropical jungle, where the colors are vibrant and the bag charms are ever-so lively! Indeed, for Spring-Summer 2018, the House summons a much-wanted tropical feel, bringing forth the playful Space Monkey and Banana charms. Upholstered with Fendi’s signature logos – such as the “FF” logo brown tone on tone jacquard fabric and the new “F is FENDI” logo shaped golden hook – the quirky charms are a treat for sore eyes!

On one hand, the “Space Monkey” charms feature a male and female version, both of which are a testament to the House’s fine craftsmanship. With adorable features and hypnotic eyes, who wouldn’t want to delve in their fabulousness? On the other hand, the “Banana” charms put an eclectic spin to the collection, featuring a pop-yellow leather peel covering a banana with the iconic FF logo jacquard. Making-Of Dior’s “D-Murrine” Collection

It wouldn’t be a typical Ready-to-Wear Dior collection without a series of blockbuster jewelry pieces. And so, for Spring-Summer 2018, the House has unveiled a jewelry collection inspired by the colorful work of Niki De Saint Phalle.

Abloom with dreamy elements, the multicolored glass motifs of necklaces, rings and earrings were all crafted on the island of Murano, Italy. On the other hand, the embellishments - such as the bee, the figure eight, the clover and the star – were made in Germany, and more specifically in the Atelier that Christian Dior picked in 1955 for the production of his very first costume jewelry collection. More so than ever, this particular collection has its roots in the House’s exceptional legacy of excellence.

Savoir-Faire Behind the Miu Lady Bag

The bejeweled belt buckle was first introduced during the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 show, adorning timeless pieces. And so, a dreamy Miu Miu bag came to life, bringing forth the Miu Lady. Its special features? Why surely, its sophisticated structure and its classic flap closure with a Baroque-meets-Western styling! To top it all off, there are 184 different shaped precious crystals and pearls hand-applied one by one on the buckle!

The Miu Lady bag comes in a free-spirited color palette and a wide series of fabrics that range from tartan, denim, exotic skins and so forth. Its versatility lies in its multiple sizes as well – think shoulder bag, handbag, shopper, etc… but perhaps its most intriguing feature is the work and effort that goes behind its making.
