Healthier Nails

Not to brag, but I’ve always had the best nails and I owe it to my mother. Not only did she pass on awesome nailbeds, but she taught me at a young age that weekly manicures are a must. All this changed very dramatically after the birth of my daughter. Her nails seem to grow so fast, but I wish I could say the same for mine. Instead they are not only breaking, but just overall getting weak and not cute. I’ve never had such horrible nails in my life. Now that I got that off my chest let’s figure out how to solve this problem. Granted, I am washing bottles and taking her in and out of the car seat which probably doesn’t help, but what else could it be? Perhaps my diet needs help or is it because I stopped my vitamins? Let’s get to the bottom of this. If you aren’t already doing so, always wear gloves when soaking your hands in water, even if you’re just washing one dish. Just like dry skin needs moisture, so do your nails. This will help nourish them, in turn making them stronger. Even a simple olive oil weekly soak might help. Also eating Biotin rich foods such as eggs, almonds, cauliflower, cheese, mushrooms, sweet potato and spinach is very helpful. Basically, it’s one of those things that your hormones are affected by, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do something about it.
