Gucci Unified Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

The show was described as "The act of creation as an act of resistance" and on the very first day of Milan Fashion week, the statement couldn't be any truer. No one can dispute Alessandro Michele's eccentric twist on fashion and certainly not after today's runway show, where one simple glance at the collection could have left you exhilarated. Rhinestones and sequins were mostly prevalent on garments, but perhaps the most-eye catching factor was the fanny-pack that doubled as a belt, gently tied at the waist. The shoulders were inherently bulky, as a nod to the collection’s revolutionary spirit. Everything bathed in the wonders of sparkles, from the hats to the rhinestone-embellished socks. It’s as if the pieces were designed to appeal to the rebellious part of every woman, what with the big coats outlined with fur, the pantsuits that combined silk and velvet and the psychedelic patterns. The lingo was quite clear: Get lost in Gucci-land.
