Runway

Giorgio Armani Spring-Summer 2018 Collection

With its graphic black and white stripes and an illuminated red sculptural background, the runway at Giorgio Armani may have been very true to the sleek architectural minimal designs of the man responsible for power dressing suits back in the 80s, but the clothes told a very different contemporary story. The catwalk erupted into a riot of bright colors and prints and feminine shapes like a pop art picture come to life. A pair of mint green ankle length trousers was styled with a hot pink print coat. Silk prints in candy colored reds and pinks were worked into soft fluid blouses and matching trousers and little day dresses were styled with oversized black wide brimmed hats and colored sandals. As a contrast models wore their hair short and cropped with a blunt fringe. For evening a black tulip dress was embellished with layers of colored tulle at the neck.
