All men and car lovers should be thankful to Chopard, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Emaar Properties this November, as on the 10th and 11th of the month Dubai will witness the first edition of Chopard Classic Rally Dubai’s first edition. The latter will bring together 30 teams driving their vintage automobiles across the UAE along the beautiful deserts, mountains and roads.
Are you wondering what it’s all about? It’s a rigorous test of timing and navigational skills that offers the chance to 60 enthusiasts to challenge their driving abilities. The journey starts from the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai and continues towards the northern emirates, passing by Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. At the end of this adventure, the winners will be rewarded during a gala dinner that will take place on the evening of the final day.
What makes this event even more exciting is the participation of Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, who’s competing with legendary pilot Jacky-Ickx. Going back in time and more specifically to 1988, Scheufele – who is a classic car enthusiast himself – said upon the launching of the first Mille Miglia collection: “People say that lovers of fine cars also have a great weakness for fine timepieces and vice versa. In both cases, sporting elegance and outstanding performance are especially important. ”
With these words ringing as true as ever, a watch dedicated to this much awaited event sounds about right! Therefore, a limited 20-piece series of L.U.C Time Traveler One – Time of the Desert watch will be unveiled to become – with its refined sand colored dial – a prize for the first place winners and a must-have for every Emirati gentlemen traveller.
