Ditch These Two in 2018

Whether you’re trying to save time or money, which product can you skip when it comes to your skincare routine? Toner. The main reason people used toners in the past was to remove dirt left behind after washing your face. These days if our cleansers aren’t doing their job we probably shouldn’t be using them anyway. Most of these toners contain alcohol which actually is really drying and bad for your skin. Many people might argue that toners containing acids are helpful, but wouldn’t it make more sense to use a cream or serum so you could apply it directly to your skin as opposed to swipe a bit on with a cotton swab?

Personally, I love toners because they just feel refreshing. It’s just a habit I have in my routine, but it’s definitely not a necessity.

Another product that you may or may not need, is eye cream. Shocking right? Since I was in my 20s I started religiously turning to these little jars as my fountain of youth for my eye area. But do eye creams work? Yes and no. Think about it, most eye creams have to be extremely gentle because the skin around the eyes is super sensitive. Therefore most eye creams really don’t do much but hydrate, and that’s something your regular moisturizer can do. But there are some benefits to the ones that do contain Vitamin K or C because as they help brighten the eye area, so look for ones that include this, otherwise save your money!
