Day to Night Makeup

Lately I am all about spending very little time getting ready all the while trying to still achieve the maximum results. Hmm… if only that worked in the gym too!
The other day we had a packed day: we were to attend a kid’s birthday during the day, a grownup's party at night. I obviously wasn’t going to go to a child’s birthday party with loads of makeup on, so it actually worked out perfectly. Ideally, I would wash my face and start over, but who has time for that? I started off with my go-to products: foundation by Makeup Forever HD, the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and setting loose powder by Laura Mercier. I filled in my brows with STILA Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color for obvious reasons. The eyes are where it can get tricky. I used a light-colored matte eyeshadow which could simply be used as a base. For mascara, I used something really light which won’t be an issue when I want to layer on some more later. Any powder blush will do, along with a gloss.

To switch to night, first thing I did was add some shimmer. I am obsessed with the MAC pigments, these tend to get all over the place so slightly tilt your head back when applying. I used MAC eyeshadow in Brun, which I actually used on eyebrows most of the time, to darken up my crease. I then added individual lashes because I had to hide the fact that I was so tired after the first party. I used another layer of concealer just to make it look clean and fresh. Over this, I used some more setting powder. Don’t worry about overdoing it with the powder, you can always set with MAC Fix Plus to make it look less powdery. Then, I eye-lined my eyes with URBAN DECAY 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil. I reapplied my blush and gloss, freshened up my hair with some hairspray and I was ready to party!
