Bvlgari Uncovers New Le Gemme Masculine Trilogy

Discover more about Bvlgari’s Le Gemme high-perfumery collection.

A few years ago, Bvlgari unveiled “Le Gemme”, a high perfumery symphony of scents for both men and women orchestrated by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier. In this collection, seven scents were dedicated to men and they are about to welcome three new members to their family.

With this in mind, Cavallier explains: “The inspiration for this new trilogy comes from the color of the stones, and the stones themselves. I had immediately to think of musk. I used here pure and crystalline musks for Opalon, opulent musks for Falkar, and powdery musks for Yasep.” In fact, he believes that “musks are in Bvlgari’s DNA – they provide an element of sensuality and cleanliness mixed with fresh inflections, which produce very different feelings on your skin” – and we couldn’t agree more!

“Opalon is the most Italian fragrance within this collection. It conjures the fundamental light of a summer morning in Rome,” says Jacques Cavallier. Inspired by Australian white opal that symbolizes purity, wisdom and fortune, this scent opens up with Neroli and ginger top notes, then reveals a heart of Indian lemongrass and geranium. True to the Master Perfumer’s words, noting that musks are the background of a perfume, the base notes layer white musk and deep ambergris accords.

For Yasep, the Master Perfumer says: “We take the beauty of nature, put it in a bottle, and offer it to our clients. Yasep’s personality is very noble and distinctive; it transports you to another world.” This fragrance finds inspiration in blood-red jasper, which is emblematic of physical strength, stamina and endurance. This scent that bursts with fire just like the heart of the stone, brings together Sichuan pepper and Sicilian mandarin as top notes, sandalwood and cedarwood as heart notes, and a woody musky accord, Amyris and vetiver as base notes – making it more Oriental than ever.

“A dream of the Middle East, a new expression of masculine sensuality. A torrid sensation, a lighter depth dressed with saffron, musks, and oud,” says Jacques cavalier about Falkar, the third addition to Le Gemme collection. Drawing its power from the majestic falcon, nothing like this scent captures the Middle Eastern opulence. At the base of this fragrance lies a blend of Agarwood, leather saffron accord and black musk, leading to a heart of Cypriol and incense to leave a place for traces of nutmeg and cinnamon opening up this harmonious melody of scents.
