Bvlgari Breaking the Fifth World Record at Baselword 2019

This edition of Baselword was not an ordinary one for Bvlgari, as the Italian house has broken the fifth world record – highlighting its never-ending expertise and pushing the boundaries of watchmaking even further. Forever challenging themselves, two highlights take center stage this year: the new Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic – which takes home a fifth world record – and the Serpenti Seduttori “Born to Be Gold” collection.

Supplied with the thinnest ever mechanical Chronograph in the history of watchmaking, the new Octo Finissimo brings together design and technology in a remarkably thin body. Esthetically, this watch is neither round nor square – which explains its history in breaking the codes since it was first released.

For a house that is also known for its magnificent design sensibility, introducing a new women’s timepiece that reaches new levels of beauty is far from being a surprise. Supplied with a drop-shaped case and a bracelet made of hexagonal bracelet links, the new Serpenti Seduttori is simply “born to be gold” and fills your wrist with sensation.

Join us to take a look at Bvlgari’s Baselword 2019 novelties!

Pushing the Boundaries with Jack de Boucheron Collection

Free, playful and rebellious… these three words are quite perfect to describe Boucheron’s new jewelry collection. Entitled “Jack de Boucheron”, this collection opens a new chapter in the house’s history. In fact, it doesn’t only push the boundaries of creativity in jewelry-making in a never-seen-before way, but also changes the concept of wearing a jewelry piece.

Inspired by audio cables, this collection’s contemporary charm lies in its clasp. Unlike any ordinary modern-day jewelry piece, a Jack de Boucheron one is special in the way it closes through a clasp that hides a connection inspired by a jack.

The same concept applies to necklaces and bracelets made of different gold colors – giving the Boucheron woman the freedom to define her own codes and embrace her uniqueness in the most elegant of ways. Whether she chooses to mix white with yellow gold, opt for pieces with or without diamonds, wear one or different necklaces and bracelets, it’s all up to her and to what her rebellious spirit dictates.

Let’s take a look at these stunning novelties and get ready to bedazzle them with your uniqueness!

Hermès Tells Time with New Arceau H Déco

Cover copyright: Joel Von Allmen

For its new timepiece, Hermès finds inspiration in its H Déco tableware. The result? It’s nothing less than a beautiful creation that sits on the wrist to tell the time in the most charming of ways.

Belonging to the Arceau family, the Arceau H Déco watch is – as its name dictates – a true embodiment of the Art Déco spirit. Framed by a gold case set with sparkling diamonds, the dial brings together mother-of-pearl marquetry and diamonds. At its center, a moving heart reinterpreting the H Déco pattern of Hermès’ porcelain tableware makes its glorious appearance in black and white for added elegance.

This wonderful timepiece is available in two versions, a black one and a white one. While the black watch is adorned with gem-set hoops on the dial, the white one’s dial is paved with 432 diamonds. However, there are a few common characteristics between these two marvels: the discreet round white-gold case houses a mechanical self-winding Manufacture Hermès movement and is adorned with two rows of diamonds, as well as a rose-cut diamond on the crown.

Nature Speaks Through These Jewels

Cover Photo Courtesy of Cartier

In the world of jewelry, like in the world of art, nature has, is and will always be an endless source of inspiration. And by nature, we do not only mean flowers and plants, but the sun, animals, insects and sometimes their habitat, as they were on the list for many jewelry makers around the world, leading to a rich selection of pieces that celebrate this source of inspiration in the most exquisite of ways.

After all, aren’t gold and precious stones one of nature’s most exquisite offerings as well? Whether it was through a mix of gold and diamonds or a more colorful one that includes other kinds of precious or semi-precious stones, many elements of nature see the light through jewelry pieces. Flowers are on top of this list, flaunting their beauty through pieces by Dior, Bvlgari, Van Cleef & Arpels and CHANEL. The serpent follows and displays its poise through creations by Boucheron, Bvlgari and Jacquie Aiche. And that’s not all, as golden leaves are part of this party, as well as the fish, the sun, the bee and its habitat, in addition to the cactus.

The list goes on and on but no matter what, the jewelry houses’ offerings reach new levels of creativity. Check out the pieces we chose for you, as a picture is worth a thousand words!

Summer on Your Wrist

Cover Photo Courtesy of Chopard

Yes indeed, it already feels like summer, and all you need is a small piece on your wrist that, while telling you the time, adds a pop of color to your outfit. In fact, that’s quite a nice way to spice up your look this and every season. We all understand how a woman finds herself wearing attires of neutral colors, or black, every morning, so choosing a colored timepiece will make all the difference and take your look to the next level while celebrating the happiness and fun of the hot season.

Have we convinced you to invest in such a joyful piece? Before we showcase a list of the best time-tellers for summer, here are a few rules to take into consideration. First of all, choose a color that you really like: while some ladies prefer cool colors such as nudes and pastels, others would rather go for a white timepiece that goes with literally everything they wear, or prefer to express their wild side with a pop of color that highlights their strength and audacity. No matter the color you choose, you should be aware that a colored watch needs attention, as unlike black, you shouldn’t be wearing it if you don’t clean it constantly. You might be wondering, what if I am not into all those pops of color? Well, our answer would be: some watches are supplied with black or dark colored straps, but their summer feel lies in the dial and that would be a great option for you.

Now, let’s take a look at this year’s offerings of ideal summer timepieces!

Boghossian Unveils New High Jewelry Wonders

Creating a high jewelry piece calls for expertise, craftsmanship and a design vision that pushes the boundaries artistically and technically. Passion driven, every jewelry maker finds in art – no matter its form – an endless source of inspiration, with the need to reach new levels in creativity, beauty and sophistication. Boghossian is one of those jewelers that always make the heart of a woman skip a beat and her eyes sparkle at the sight of precious stones set in the most creative ways. From this exact vision, comes the Inlay high jewelry collection, leaving nothing to the imagination but the charm that every piece would add with a swooning outfit.

Inlay proved itself to be a collection of art in its own right, as it is more than a selection of exquisite pieces set with diamonds and stones in a familiar setting technique. In fact, this collection goes back in history to Ancient Egypt and Moghul Empires. It uses, as its name dictates, the inlay setting technique, which consists of inlaying one gem within another. Meticulously carved and shaped, the stone is set directly into the next one.

As for the result, it’s more than captivating. The absence of metal allows the stones to reveal their true colors and beauty, forming one harmonious entity that doesn’t look like anything your eyes are familiar with.
