Travel is most probably something we all love to do, but we can’t deny that finding the perfect places to visit in order to go on exciting adventures sometimes feel impossible. But hey, that doesn’t mean that you can’t read a book about the times when travelling the world was the most thrilling adventure of all.

“The Golden Age of Travel” is a richly illustrated volume that counts the history of travel from 1869 to 1939. It follows six classic tours that were Western adventurers’ favorites in the prewar era. Think of adventures on the Grand Tour of Europe – which was tradition for young English aristocrats, the Far East, the Trans-Siberian Railway, and much more.

This book also explores the various modes of transport used at the time – from trains to boats, cars, planes, horses, donkeys and camels. It also evokes the elegance, romance and sense of novelty that distinguished the golden-age passengers. Well, the least we can say about this book is that it will be your ticket to an era that conquered adventure.
