Blissful Bali

Think Bali, think serenity. Think Bulgari, think glamor. And when Bulgari opened its 59-villa resort near Pecatu village and a stunning cliffside on the island, things took a breathtaking turn. Blending traditional Balinese style with dramatic and contemporary Italian design, the Bulgari Resort Bali has become the quintessential classic retreat, embodying Italian elegance. If beaches, undulating waves and mesmerizing sunsets are your thing, head to Bulgari Bali.

The brand’s attention to detail and perfection echoes throughout this mildly laidback romantic luxury enclave dotted with frangipane trees. Located at over 150 meters above the seashore, with expansive views of the Indian Ocean, there’s nothing quite like this in Pecatu. The beach, which nestles between the cliff and ocean, can only be accessed through the resort’s inclined elevator.

Natural lava and palimanan stone have been used for the garden and interior walls, while refined bangkiray hardwood works well in the villas, and natural green-colored sukabumi stone clad the outdoor showers, plunge and swimming pools. The clincher however is the plunge pool, and the spa.  Every guestroom has a private garden, pool and an open-air living room that overlooks thatched roofs and the ocean.

The 59 villas, including 3 two-bedroom villas, the 1,300 square-meter Bulgari villa and five mansions, along with the open areas are decorated with stemware, furniture, ceramics, woven fabrics – all designed and crafted by local artists as envisioned by the architects.

The Sangkar Indonesian restaurant offers authentic Balinese dishes and a selection of international specialties, while Il Ristorante Italian restaurant whips up contemporary Italian cuisine, and La Spiaggia serves grilled dishes.

The Spa – built at the brim of the cliff – offers a yoga pavilion; small pavilions are open to the sea, and a floating wooden bridge stretches over a pond offering you relaxing views of the ocean. Try out the traditional Asian techniques and natural E’SPA products along with a range of blissful Balinese, Asian and European therapies and treatments; allow yourself to relax and reconnect with nature.

To Do: The concierge organizes day trips to neighboring islands and volcano visits by helicopter. Indulge in holistic activities or local tours during your stay.

Getting there: Singapore Airlines, Jetstar, Garuda etc., operate services to Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar Airport. The Bulgari Resort is located near the village of Pecatu, and is around 20 km from the international airport.
