Beauty Tip of the Week – Sunset Eyes

The roots for this look can be tracked back to the 80s. Think of Madonna for example, in her vibrant yellows, bright pinks, and energetic orange.

Most of all, think of the beautiful colors of a perfect sunset, which is what inspires this look to be more wearable today.

Rather than mixing in 5 different colors, simply stick to 2 or 3 similar colors - mainly, warm bronze, gold, orange, and pink.

The first thing is to get your hands on a ready set palette of eyeshadow if you don't have some sunset colors already. At the moment, I love Naked Heat by Urban Decay, with 12 gradients of apricot and bronze which instantly say warm sunset, and you can combine 2 or 3 of your favorite colors for a particular look.

You can also opt for a monochromatic look, so one shade of auburn for example, on the eyes, cheeks and lips. My favorite tip is to use eyeshadow on lips and cheeks as well as eyes, but just remember to add gloss on top of the lips if you are using eyeshadow for some color intensity.

You can also keep your eyes nude for this look, and simply add a flick of eyeliner in pink, or orange, or even both if one is on the upper lid, and the other one is on the lower lid.

Keep your cheeks limited to hues of pink with or without a pearly sheen depending on preference.

And last but not least, you can choose to intensify your lips with a bright pink, or simply keep them nude if the face is already accentuated with sunset shades.

There really is no limit with the intensity of this look, you can be extremely daring, or simply keep it subtle. But one thing’s for sure, and that is nothing is as beautiful as the horizon of a sunset, so be sure to wear it well!
